Kuriko is the main protagonist of The Horror World of Junji Ito's short story "The Bully" referencing the book's name, Kuriko in her childhood used to be an active bully towards Nao when she grew annoyed with his company. she would act in rather violent ways to try to make him leave her alone, such as pushing him towards an aggressive dog and even nearly drowning him in the anime. though she grows regretting these acts, she relapses into them when she is left alone her son, Hiroshi.
