Hugo Wallace Weaving AO (born April 4, 1960) is an English-Australian actor, perhaps best known for his roles as Agent Smith in The Matrix and as Elrond in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies of films. He gained his first experience as a voice actor in the Babe films, where he played Rex the sheepdog, the titular hero's foster father.
